Stage is all set for jumbo transfer list in Rajasthan. The state government is likely to transfer 15-20 collectors and will effect change of guard in important departments. This transfer list is long awaited. Debate over posting of a couple of officers is holding the list.
“Chief secretary Sudhansh Pant has reviewed the performance of collector personally. He has recorded file disposal time of every collector and transfer will be done on the basis of performance. Similarly, some head of departments will also get some job rotation,” said a senior IAS officer.
The list is likely to have names of officers which have been working in the same post for long.
Though they have remained untouched so far due to their performance. But then in administration, transfer in 2-3 years has become a norm,” the officer said.
According to sources, officers specially collectors who have performed well during elections, will be rewarded with better postings. There are chances that some existing collectors of bigger districts get smaller ones. Similarly, districts SPs will also be rotated. There is unlikely to be any major change in top order of IPS list.
Government looking for alternative to Akhil Arora
The government is still on a look out for an alternative to Akhil Arora who has been holding the fort of finance for last four years.
“At this juncture when chief secretary has orders for an immediate implementation of budgetary announcements, finance department will be needing a ‘Kuber' like Arora, who has never said ‘No' to any ambitious scheme,” said another IAS officer.
Sources said that there is unlikely to be any job rotation for officers posted in oblivion. This month Rajeshwar Singh is going to retire. He is holding two positions – chairman revenue board and chairman tax board. The government will need a senior officer who can replace Rajeshwar Singh.
In finance department also, Naresh Kumar Thakral, who is secretary (expenditure) is retiring. He has been in finance department for more than three years. An officer promoted in IAS from special selection had worked in PWD department for long time.
