Congress reserves Amla seat for deputy collector Nisha Bangre, who is in legal battle with MP govt for acceptance of resignation

Congress has announced candidates on all seats of Madhya Pradesh except on Amla seat where deputy collector Nisha Bangre, who is fighting against Shivraj Singh government for her relieving after she had resigned almost four months back.

By not announcing candidate for Amla seat Congress has indicated that the party wants Bangre to contest for that seat albeit her is accepted. Bangre, is a state civil services officer, who belongs to scheduled cast. In June she had applied for leave to attend a Buddhist . But government denied her the leave. She had then resigned and attended the ceremony. But the state government since then had not accepted her resignation. For that Bangre has been staging and had moved High Court also. But she could not get relief.

Now Bangre has moved Supreme Court as the state government is in no mood to relieve her and constituted an enquiry as to why she has attended a religious ceremony without permission.

The Supreme Court has asked Bangre to file application with High Court for fast resolution and also directed High Court to decide on fast track.
Advocate of Bangre and senior leader Vivek Tankha said that Bangre will again go to High Court and decision is likely on two-three days.
Bangre said that she was ready to contest elections

“I am all geared up to contest election against this government. Once the resignation gets accepted, I will be in the battleground,” she said.
Bangre has time till October 30 to get the relieving from state government and file nomination, which starts from October 21 and ends on October 30.
“Contesting election is my basic right. And I have complete faith in judiciary that they will do justice to me,” Bangre said.

Bangre said that she told Supreme Court that four officers had resigned from services which included on , one IAS officer, a teacher and a doctor.
“Government accepted resignation of all four within 24 hours. But it is harassing me as I am a supporter of opposite party,” she said.
