A day after seeking advice from former bureaucrats for the success of Rising Rajasthan, Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma looked upto IAS officers of Rajasthan origin working in other states for their suggestions.
The chief minsiter connected with them through video conferencing and sought suggestions while briefing them about the investment potential in Rajasthan.
The state government will hold a special session on Non Resident Rajasthanis (NRRs) on December 10, at the three day summit starting from December 9, 2024.
He said that the focus areas of Rajasthan are renewable energy, automobile sector, tourism and agriculture among others.
“We are focusing on developing basic infrastructure in the state. Our government is developing water projects like ERCP, Yamuna water distribution agreement and Dewas project for availability of water. We have also signed up MoUs worth Rs 2.24 lakh core for generating renewable power. Apart from that we are improving our road connectivity while developing air services in Kishangarh, Jhalawar, Sirohi and Sikar,” he said.

During the discussion senior IAS officers including Amrit Lal Meena, chief secretary Bihar; Rajesh Kumar, additional chief secretary revenue (Maharshtra); Vivek Bhardwaj, panchayatiraj secretary (West Bengal); Anju Sharma, additional chief secretary, agriculture (Gujarat); Babu Lal Meena, principal secretary, horticulture and sericulture (Uttar Pradesh); Dr Devendra Dodawat, additional chief secretary to Governor (Kerala); Lokesh Chandra, managing director of state Discom (Maharshtra); Sunil Paliwal, chairman Tamil Nadu Port Trust; Subhash Chandra Sharma, principal secretary backward category welfare (Uttar Pradesh); Virendra Kumar Meena, principal secretary printing and stationery (Punjab); Har Sahay Meena, principal secretary civil supplies ( Tamilnadu); Dhananjay Dwivedi, principal secretary, health and family welfare (Maharashtra) and Saurabh Vijay, also from Maharashtra cadre, who is working as principal secretary finance (expenditure), were present in the discussion through video conferencing.
Apart from that, officers serving at centre also joined the discussion. Those included steel secretary Sandeep Paundrik and Jal Shakti and drinking water secretary Ashok Kaluram Meena are participated in the discussion.
The officers came up with suggestions, which can help Rajasthan attract investment at the Rising Rajasthan summit.
“They suggested Rajasthan government to ensure water availability for industries, promote solar power and implement new industrial policies to enable establishment of industries in the state. They also suggested to modernise agriculture, strengthen single window system, promote coarse grains and develop religious tourism in the state.

Senior officers from state government including chief secretary Sudhansh Pant, additional chief secretary to CM Shikhar Agrawal, principal secretary to CM Alok Gupta, commissioner industries and commerce Rohit Gupta, RIICO managing director Inderjeet Singh and special secretary to CM Sandesh Nayak were present.
