A day after blast in firecracker factory in Harda, which left 11 people dead, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav removed collector and superintendent of police (SP) of Harda district .
The chief minister Mohan Yadav first transferred SP Sanjeev Kumar Kanchan to assistant inspector general (AIG) in police headquarter while the collector Rishi Garg was transferred to deputy secretary in the state secretariat.
The chief minister also suspended Naveen Kumar, who was serving as boiler inspector and assistant director industrial health and security.
The charge of district collector has been given to Rohit Sissoniya, who is serving as CEO district panchayat.
The outgoing collector Rishi Garg is a 2013 batch IAS officer. He is a graduate from IIT-Kanpur and is known for resolving problems with practical solutions.
“It's unfortunate that a dynamic officer like Rishi Garg had to pay price for this mishap. He has been helpful to poor and destitute in the district,” said a resident of Harda.
Sanjeev Kumar Kanchan is a 1996 batch state police service officer promoted to IPS.
