Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced to create a new government department to protect the interest of Pravasi Rajasthani (Non-Resident Rajasthani (NRR)) community. He also announced to celebrate December 10 as Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas while constituting annual Pravasi Rajasthani award.
Sharma was speaking in the Pravasi Rajasthani Conclave.
The conclave was also attended by Haribhau Bagade, Governor of Rajasthan; Bhupender Yadav, Union Environment Forest and Climate Change, Government of India; Om Mathur, Governor of Sikkim; Diya Kumari, Deputy Chief Minister Rajasthan, Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa, Deputy Chief Minister, Rajasthan; Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore, Industries Minister; K K Vishnoi, Minister for State, Industries.
“The department will cater to the interests and well-being of the Pravasi Rajasthani community. The department will utilise the suggestions, expertise and resources of the Pravasi community to help Rajasthan take new strides across sectors such as tourism, health, and education,” Sharma said.
Sharma further announced that December 10th will be officially marked as “Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas” every year. On this day, members from the community will be invited and felicitated besides being honoured for their efforts towards the development of Rajasthan. He also announced the annual Pravasi Rajasthani Award for the members of the community. The Chief Minister further said that a single point of contact (PoC) will also be appointed across all districts of Rajasthan to resolve the grievances of the extended family members of the Pravasi Rajasthani community.
Rajasthan has a rich legacy
Speaking at the conclave, Bhupender Yadav, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, said, “The immense credibility, reliability, honesty and impartiality of the Marwari and Rajasthani community is their biggest strength which has played an instrumental role in their success and fame across all professions.”
Om Mathur, Governor of Sikkim, in his address praised the industrious nature, entrepreneurial spirit, and bravery of Rajasthanis and highlighted how the community has earned global recognition and created mini ‘Rajasthans' worldwide by promoting the culture and heritage of Rajasthan.
Speaking at the conclave, Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore, Industries Minister, Government of Rajasthan, said, “All Pravasis attending this event on this auspicious occasion have not only successfully gone through a sea of challenges by establishing their successful careers in far off states but have also promotedthe Rajasthani culture, festivals and heritage in other parts of the country.”
K.K. Vishnoi, Minister of State for Industries, Government of Rajasthan, giving the vote of thanks, stated that under the dynamic leadership of CM Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, the summit has secured record investment proposals and laid the foundation for Rajasthan's continued prosperity and development.
