Arun Misra, CEO Zinc Business, Vedanta has assumed office as the president of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Rajasthan, a leading industry body.
Sanjay Agarwal, managing director and ceo of AU Small Finance Bank, has assumed office as the vice president of CII state council. Both the industry leaders have been appointed as office bearers for the year 2024-25.
Arun Misra, the CEO of Zinc Business at Vedanta, has been at the helm of Hindustan Zinc, a global giant in zinc production and the fifth-largest silver producer, since August 1, 2020. His leadership expanded in June 2022, as he took charge of managing the operations and growth of Vedanta Zinc International, with mines and concentrators in South Africa. Furthermore, as of August 1, 2023, Misra has been appointed as the Executive Director at Vedanta Limited.
Misra's achievements include being the first-ever Indian Chairperson of the International Zinc Association. Under his guidance, Hindustan Zinc achieved the highest Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) score of 85 among 238 companies in S&P Global Corporate Responsibility Assessment 2023 in the Mining & Metal sector. His academic background includes a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from IIT, Kharagpur, and diplomas in Mining and Beneficiation from the University of New South Wales Sydney, and General Management from CEDEP, France. Beyond his professional pursuits, Misra is passionate about singing, golf, and football.
