CEO Praveen Gupta admitted to SMS hospital, condition stable

Four days ahead of counting of votes, the electoral officer of Rajasthan, Praveen Gupta has been hospitalised on complaints of hypoxia. He has been admitted in ICU of SMS hospital under the supervision of Dr Sudhir Mehta. He is conscious and his condition is stable. Though he is still on oxygen support.

In this morning, Gupta was brought to hospital in a semiconscious on complaints of breathing problems.

According to sources, food particles went into the wind pipe of Gupta when he was having breakfast. That caused condition of hypoxia and he was immediately taken to hospital.

Gupta conducted election successfully

, an of 1995 batch, has been credited to have conducted in Rajasthan with an all-time record turnout of 75.45% He is said to have led the team single-handedly with technological intervention. Under his tenure, the poll was conducted peacefully barring few incidents of violence.

“It has nothing to do with the pressure of election. He has been admitted as Food particles entered in the wind pipe which can happen to anyone. You can't relate his illness to fatigue,” said a senior doctor of SMS Hospital.
