The Government of India announced a significant reshuffle on Wednesday, involving the transfer of several senior IAS officers. The changes affect key positions across various ministries and departments.
Rachna Shah, IAS, currently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles, has been appointed Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training.
Arunish Chawla, IAS, formerly Secretary of the Department of Pharmaceuticals in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, will now serve as Secretary of the Department of Revenue in the Ministry of Finance. Additionally, he will hold the additional charge of Secretary of the Ministry of Culture.
Vineet Joshi, IAS, who was serving in his cadre Manipur as chief secretary, has been appointed Secretary of the Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education.
Sanjay Sethi, IAS, also serving in his cadre, has been named Secretary of the National Commission for Minorities under the Ministry of Minority Affairs. He succeeds Neelam Shammi Rao, IAS, who has been transferred to the position of Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles, succeeding Rachna Shah.
Amit Agrawal, IAS, currently Chief Executive Officer of the Unique Identification Authority of India, has been appointed Secretary of the Department of Pharmaceuticals in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers. He replaces Arunish Chawla, who now heads the Department of Revenue.
Neerja Sekhar, IAS, previously Special Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has been appointed Director General of the National Productivity Council under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.
