Countdown of assembly elections in Rajasthan has begun. The Chief Election Commissioner ( CEC ) Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioners Anup Chandra Pandey and Arun Goyal will be on a three-day visit to Jaipur from September 29. They will interact with representatives of political parties and polling agencies to review the preparations of the upcoming assembly elections.
Rajasthan chief electoral officer (CEO) Praveen Gupta told The BuckStopper that the commission will take stock of preparations of assembly elections.
“Apart from discussion with representatives of political parties, they will hold meetings with nodal officers of enforcement agencies including State Police, Income Tax, Excise, Transport, Commercial Tax, Coordinator of State lead banks, Railways and Airport to discuss final prints of the preparations of assembly elections,” he said.
Gupta said that chief election commissioner will see the presentation of nodal officers of state and central police force about their preparations to ensure strict implementation of election code of conduct in the state .
“They will also review the preparations done at the level of district election officers, Inspector General and other senior officers involved in conducting the elections. He will also meet chief secretary and director general of police regarding free and fair organising of elections,” he said.
