A disciplinary action is a reprimand or corrective action in response to employee misconduct, rule violation, or poor performance.

Administrative action is a legal move that involves the conduct of a public administrative body. It’s not legislative or judicial but instead focuses on analyzing and treating a specific situation. A disciplinary suspension is when an organization retains a team member but asks them not to come to work or engage in any work-related activities.

Disciplinary action means responding to an employee’s misconduct, unsatisfactory performance, and breaking of rules at work. It aims to correct the behaviour, not punish them. Employees may receive a verbal or written reprimand, but employers may adopt other actions to correct behaviour.
An administrative action is usually conducted according to procedures set out by law that are similar to those of a court, but the councils or other bodies that hear the cases are not officers of the court. Thus, the proceedings are quasi-judicial.
The purpose of disciplining is to correct, not to punish, work-related behaviour.
