Brijesh Dixit, who is serving as executive director in the National High Speed Rail (Bullet Train Project) has been selected as the managing director of Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL), a mini ratna public sector enterprise, which is a joint venture between Government of India and Government of Rajasthan. He will replace Rakesh Chopra, who rose from ranks to become managing director in 2020.
The name of Brijesh Dixit was selected at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on July 24, 2024. As many as 12 persons were interviewed for the top post. Out of candidates, three candidates were from SAIL, two candidates from Indian Railways and one each from REIL, HEC Limited, Richardson & Cruddas Limited, Central Electronics Limited, BSNL, Indian Oil and RINL-VSP.
A post graduate in mechanical engineering from prestigious IIT Kanpur, Dixit has served with Indian Railways at various leadership positions for two decades.
He was among one of the three candidates selected from India for the coveted Fulbright Humphrey Fellowship. He has expertised in the field of Technology Policy and Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) USA.
In his previous assignments, he has worked as director in the Railway Board, New Delhi, director in research, designs and standards organisation in Mumbai and also as director quality assurance.
As Managing Director of REIL, Dixit will be the Chief Executive of the company. He will be accountable to its board of directors and government and shareholders. He also will be responsible for the efficient functioning of the company, and for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters.
