BJP leader Rajendra Rathore seeks removal of CS Usha Sharma during elections, writes to CEC

Leader of Opposition in Rajendra Rathore has written a letter to chief commissioner demanding removal of chief Usha Sharma from her post.

He has written that the government has extended her tenure, there is a possibility she could misuse her post to favour the ruling Congress in the .

“As per circular No. 437/6/1 of election commission, those officers who are under extension of service cant't carry out any work. Under his rule, chief secretary should be removed,” Rathore has written.

He has written that Sharma has received benefit from the state government as it gave her an extension on the post.

“There is a possibility that she can favour the Congress party and misuse her post,” he claimed.

Sharma should immediately be removed from the post of chief secretary and any decision taken by her after the Model Code of Conduct came into force should be invalidated, Rathore added.

Rathore has raised doubts over free and fair conduct of elections stating that Usha Sharma is a relative of assembly speaker and Congress candidate from Nathdwara C P Joshi.

“Under such circumstances, we fear that elections will not be conducted free and fair,” he wrote.

DGP and CS went on leave in past also

In past also, in 2009 when Namo Narain Meena had contested election from Tonk Sawai Madhopur seat on Congress ticket, then DG police and brother of Namo Narain Meena, Harish Meena went for a voluntary leave of one month.

During 2013 assembly elections, then chief secretary C K Mathew also went for voluntary leave of two month following allegations of BJP that Mathew was working overtime to help ruling Congress after the imposition of model code of conduct.
