At a time when industry department is busy in implementing the investment commitments on ground, Rohit Gupta, Commissoner of Bureau of Investment Promotion (BIP), the nodal agency which organised Rising Rajasthan, has headed for a 3-month study leave.
Gupta has been granted leave so that he could pursue doctorate (Ph.D) from Princeton University, New Jersey.
Gupta had been on long leave four times before and had completed Master's degree in Public Policy.
A graduate in electrical engineering, Gupta is considered a bright and result oriented officer. The state government will have to replace him with officer of equal calibre for smooth implementation MoUs signed in Rising Rajasthan.
Rohit Gupta was also holding the charge of commissioner industries. In his absence, RIICO managing director Inderjeet Singh , has been given additional charge of BIP commissioner while Akash Tomar, executive director, RIICO will take care of the charge of commissioner industries.
