Rajasthan PHED principal secretary Bhaskar Sawant has instructed to monitor the work issued under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in a plan wise manner and complete the work in a time bound manner.
He said that an online module will be developed to review the progress of works under Jal Jeevan Mission. The online monitoring will help in bringing transparency in the system and actual quality and progress can be gauged.
Sawant told officials to identify works which are in the verge of completion.
“Such works should be completed on priority so that public can start getting benefits from the project. At the same time, there is a need to identify work plans which can expedite the works under JJM. Agenda of such plans should be put up before the apex committee for speedy approval from the state government,” Sawant said.
He asked officials to finalise the policies related to financial resources, operation and maintenance so that apex committee can approve these elements.
No negligence in JJM works
Sawant said that there will be no tolerance to negligence in ensuring quality of the works under JJM.
“Third party investigation agency should be put to best of the use for stamping the quality work. The expenditure incurring on works of JJM should be calculated on a monthly basis so that the state government and be apprised about the monthly expenses,” he said.
Sawant also instructed officials to collect maximum samples of ground water to improve the ranking of water quality under JJM.
The managing director of Jal Jeevan Mission Qummer Ul Zaman Choudhary was also present in the review meeting along with chief engineer (project) Sandeep Sharma, chief engineer (JJM) Daleep Gaur and other senior officials.
