The decision finds its roots in the Shahidi Sabha, a solemn event dedicated to commemorating the sacrifices of Mata Gujri Ji and both Sahibjade Baba Fateh Singh and Baba Zorawar Singh. The Sabha, scheduled from December 26th to the 28th, holds deep cultural and religious significance.
Effective from midnight tonight until the same hour on December 28th, all liquor establishments will remain closed. In addition to the temporary closure of liquor shops, all beer bars in the three-kilometer radius of Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and Gurdwara Jyoti Sarup Sahib will remain shut. Hotels are also prohibited from serving alcohol during this period, with strict penalties in place for any violation.
