A day before the superannuation of Nina Singh, the first woman director general of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Anish Dayal Singh, DG, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), has been assigned an additional charge of DG CISF.
Nina Singh is 1989-batch IPS officer of Rajasthan cadre while Anish Dayal Singh is a 1988 batch IPS officer of Manipur cadre.
Nina Singh's husband Rohit Kumar Singh, who was union secretary consumer affairs ministry, had retired in March this year.
Nina Singh, who completed 35 years in police service, is considered an intelligent officer. She had served in CBI also and had handled several high profile cases like Sheena Bora murder case, PNB scam, Nirav Modi case, actress Zia Khan suicide mystery and Chhota Rajan case among others.
As the DG CISF, Nina Singh headed the 1.76 lakh-personnel strong central armed police force, which is mandated to guard civil airports, the Delhi Metro and sensitive installations in the aerospace and nuclear domain.
Known to be a bold and intelligent officer, Singh has many firsts to her credit. She is the first woman IPS of Rajasthan cadre to attain DG rank. She also happens to be the first woman IPS from Rajasthan to be honoured with the President's Police Medal, a highly prestigious award. Nina was then on central deputation posted as the Joint Director in the CBI force.
Who is Anish Dayal Singh?
Anish Dayal Singh was born in 1964 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. He is scheduled for retire December this year. Prior to becoming CRPF DG last year, he had served as DG of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
He is a recipient of Indian Police Medal awarded by central government in year 2004 for meritorious service. He had also received President's Police Medal for distinguished service in 2012.
Anish Singh is considered bold and intelligent officer. He has experience of leading paramillitary forces.
