Amid fierce war between Israel and Hamas, Rajasthan government has stepped up the security of Chabad House in Pushkar, 10000 Kms from the battle ground of Gaza Strip. Eight armed personnel of Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) have been deputed to guards house, which is the only synagogue in Rajasthan where tourists from Israel stay. Apart from RAC personnel, local police and police in civil uniform are also keeping a tight vigil on Chabad House.
There are around 400 tourist from Israel in Pushkar and the their influx continue year round. The holy city of Pushkar is among Israeli's favourite destinations in India.
“Pushkar is known as mini Israel. They celebrate many festivals together in Pushkar. Their major festival – Hanukkah – is scheduled between 7-15 December, 2023. People have started preparations for that. In fact management of Chabad House and Jewish priest Simson Goldstein also visit Pushkar,” said Radhe Lal, a tour operator.
Israeli tourists in Pushkar are enraged over the terror attack of Hamas on Israel. They said that the army of Israel is very strong and they are capable of giving befitting reply.
“We will win the war and we are also trained soldiers. We will go and fight Hamas back,” said two of the tourists staying in Pushkar .
