ACB finds cash, properties worth crores, jewellery and suspicious diaries from IAS Ratnoo

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has found property documents worth crores, jewellery cash and detail of lockers from IAS Meghraj Ratnoo and his relatives.

The ACB, on Friday morning, conducted multiple raids in premises of Ratnoo and his relatives at Jaipur, Ajmer, Jaisalmer, Sri Ganganagar and Sikar.

The ACB has also raided office of Ratnoo, who is 2010 batch promotee IAS, serving as registrar of cooperative department.

Additional Director General of ACB Hemant Priyadarshi said that during search operation, the ACB has found five property documents in name of Meghraj Ratnoo while they found one plot and two flats in mane of his wife Manjula Ranoo. They found one flat in name of daughter Maheeja Ratnoo while there are documents of plots in name his nephew Mahipal Singh and his wife.

Apart from that, during search, ACB sleuths found cash of Rs 6 lakh, jewellery of gold and silver, four lockers and documents related to fee of Rs 50 lakh towards admission of his son Mihir Ratnoo in . ACB will now check the lockers.

Priyadarshi said that additional superintendent of police Balram Singh Meena had conducted search operation in Ratnoo's office and found receipts of Life insurance policies, electricity , four suspicious diaries and a pen drive. He has recovered a photograph of a cheque of Bank of India in favour of Meghraj Ratnoo.

Priyadarshi said that Meghraj Ratnoo had spent Rs 60 lakh on education of his daughter and Rs 1.5 crore on her marriage. He had went abroad many times during his service period and owns membership of premium clubs like Jaipur Club and .

The ACB had acted upon complaints of corruption against Ratnoo. Following that ACB first investigated and then tried to trap Ratnoo red handed. But they failed to do so. When ACB investigated about the properties of Ratnoo, they found ownership of properties under fake names. Then ACB decide to conduct raids on Ratnoo and his relatives simultaneouslysimultaneously.

Who is Meghraj Singh Ratnoo?

Ratnoo is a 2010 batch IAS, promoted from state civil services. He is due to retire in June 2025.
Ratnoo is the third IAS officer who has been raided after Inder Singh Rao and Nannu Mal Pahadiya in this government. All three officers are promoted from state civil services. Nannu Mal Pahadiya was caught when he was Alwar collector while Rao was trapped when he was serving as Bundi collector.

Meghraj Singh Ratnoo has served in various capacities including director fisheries, additional director National Health Mission, commissioner Jodhpur Development Authority and commissioner horticulture.

He was put on APO after he was removed from Commissioner Jodhpur Development Authority.
