ACB busts fake NoC racket for organ transplant

(ACB) has busted a fake NoC racket of organ transplant involving staff of a private – EHCC and Rajasthan's largest government hospital – SMS hospital. 

The ACB has arrested assistant administrative officer of SMS hospital – Gaurav Singh and organ transplant coordinator of EHCC – Anil Joshi exchanging money. The ACB has recovered ₹70,000 and three fake NoC letters from them. The bureau is conducting searches on residences and other locations of these two culprits. ACB has recovered 100 unsigned NoCs but with name of hospitals mentioned from Gaurav Singh's residence.

EHCC suspends its staff, assures full cooperation

Unaware about the activities of Anil Joshi, the management of immediately took stern action and suspended Joshi. It has constituted an internal enquiry against the staff and assured full cooperation to the ACB team. 

Ashish Khunteta, AGM, Public Relations, said that the hospital has taken this seriously and instituted an enquiry into it. 

“We will give complete cooperation to the police and ACB,” he said.

EHCC is a leading private hospital of known for effective treatment of heart diseases including heart transplant.

ACB launches intensive investigation in organ transplant

According to general of ACB Hemant Priyadarshy, the bureau had received complaint regarding this scam three days back from an officer of SMS hospital. He complained that someone in the hospital is issuing fake NoC letters for organ transplant without approval of committee. 

“These people are taking money against issuance of NoC, which has no validity. Staff of some private hospitals are also involved in this racket,” the officer of SMS hospital complained. 

Hemant Priyadarshy said that the ACB formed a team led by DIG Ravi and the team immediately swung into action. 

“The team identified the suspects and did proper investigation. On Sunday night, the team nabbed Gaurav Singh and Anil Joshi red handed with money and fake NoC. 

During investigation, it was found that Gaurav Singh has been taking bribe for fake NoCs without concurrence of the committee,” Hemant Priyadarshy said.
