Aanchal Goyal appointed as Mumbai collector

Aanchal Goyal, a 2014-batch officer has been appointed as the new Collector of Mumbai City district. The position had been vacant since the transfer of Sanjay Yadav last month.

Goyal, has held several key roles in the state. She has previously served as the CEO of Ratnagiri Zilla Parishad and as Joint Managing Director of Mumbai Film City. With this appointment, she joins a list of distinguished women IAS officers who have held the post, including Sharwaree Gokhale, Valsa Nair Singh, Ashwini Joshi, I A Kundan, Shaila A and Sampada Mehta.

Before her recent posting in Nagpur, Goyal served as the District Collector of Parbhani and CEO of Ratnagiri Zilla Parishad.

During her tenure at NMC, she managed crucial departments such as solid waste management, , education, social welfare, IT, transportation, property tax, traffic and parks. Under her leadership, NMC saw major advancements, including the digitisation of waste vehicle monitoring, the establishment of health centers, and record property tax collections. She also introduced a mid-day meal program for pre-primary students, developed new parks and spearheaded the overall digital transformation of NMC's administrative systems. 

Her appointment as Mumbai City Collector is expected to bring her extensive experience in urban governance and technology-driven reforms to the financial capital's administrative framework.

Other Key IAS Transfers

Along with Goyal's appointment, the state government has reshuffled several other IAS officers. Ankit, an , has been posted as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zilla Parishad, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Additionally, Minal Karanwal and Kavali Meghana have been assigned as CEOs of Zilla Parishads in Jalgaon and Nanded, respectively. 

In Nashik, IAS officer Karishma Nair has been appointed as Additional Municipal of Nashik Municipal Corporation. Meanwhile, Ranjit Mohan Yadav has been posted as Project Officer for the Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP) in Gadchiroli and will also serve as Assistant Collector of Gadchiroli Sub-Division
