Rewarding the innovative work of Ajmer Discom managing director N S Nirwan, Rajasthan government has given him an extension of one year in the office.
After assuming the charge again, Nirwan said that he will work towards safeguarding the interest of consumers.
“Any consumer issue related to connection, billing, metre and change of transformers will be take up on priority. Apart from that the Discom will also strengthen the monitoring to keep a check on theft and transmission losses,” he said.
Nirwan said that the Discom will organise camps at village and panchayat levels to resolve electricity related problems of consumers.
“We will propagate the consumer-friendly schemes of state government and ensure an uninterrupted power supply in rural areas as well. We will accelerate our efforts to maximise the revenue,” he said
The Discom has recently earned a revenue of Rs 33.90 crore from disputes that were settled during National Lok Adalat. Officials informed that a total of 16,108 cases were disposed of during the Lok Adalat.
Of these 16,108 cases, 14,015 cases were related to the disconnection of electricity connection and 2,093 cases were related to theft or misuse of electricity. Instructions were given by Ajmer Discom to settle these disputes in Lok Adalat.
Nearly 207 consumers of Ajmer city circle, 195 consumers in Ajmer district circle, 582 consumers in Bhilwara circle, and 838 consumers in Nagaur Circle benefitted through the Lok Adalat.
