Shooters and their accomplices involved in Sukhdev Singh a Gogamedi were continuously in touch on Signal app, which is untraceable. The handler of gangster Rohit Godara of Lawrence Bishnoi gang – Virendra Charan – was giving instructions through signal app to shooters Rohit Rathore and Nitin Fauji. He was able to arrange money sending them locations from where they can receive money from riders.
According to sources in police, on Chandrakant Meghwal, who lives in Pratap Nagar handed over the weapons to Nitin Fauji and Rohit Rathore. Pictures of weapons were also sent through Signal app.
Later Nitin Fauji who had come from Haryana for the killing had stayed at a hotel near Triveni Nagar.
Nitin Fauji, who had a love marriage last year wanted to settle down in Canada along with his wife.
“That was the incentive for which Nitin Fauji agree to kill a person he had seldom seen,” said a senior police official involved in the operation.
He shared that the police team was not able to crack the location of the shooters who were on run as they were using Signal app.
“Then we went to Udham Gujjar's residence in Haryana and nabbed his brother and asked him to call Udham in Chandigarh through normal call. His brother called him and asked, “has police come there. Are u safe or not.”
“The moment we captured the location of Udham, we knew the two shooters were with them and we continuously followed them till we arrested them,” the official said.
