The mega victory in three states – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh – has just refreshed the dominance of Modi magic. His whirlwind campaign, Modi guarantee and dependable face coupled by Rajputana Army did the magic for BJP.
The Rajputana Army – Om Mathur (election incharge Chhattisgarh), Bhupender Yadav (election incharge Madhya Pradesh, Ashwini Vaishnaw (co-incharge Madhya Pradesh) just implemented the elections strategy drawn in the drawing boards of BJP headquarters.
Om Mathur achieved unimaginable task by taking the party across 50 seats mark. When all pollsters and political experts have relegated BJP in Chhattisgarh, Om Mathur with his unmatched organisational skills stitched the party together and brought it not only in reckoning but also outsmarted Bhupesh Baghel's strategy. When Om Mathur was made state incharge of Chhattisgarh, BJP was in a pitiable condition. There was another leader, no organisation and no colour in the party. Mathur recreated the party. He has been poll incharge of 8 states including Uttar Pradesh, Maharshtra and Gujarat, where he drove party to victory from no where. So the party had confidence in his ability and he was given free hands. His selection of candidates and extensive touring of state help the party unseat Bhupesh Baghel who till five days from poll was looking comfortably placed. The last moment of magic just turned the table on Congress.
Apart from Mathur, BJP had entrusted two more leaders from Rajasthan Bhupender Yadav and Ashwini Vaishnaw with putting perspective on place in Madhya Pradesh. Congress was the favourite among political experts and journalists. People were expecting a change in Madhya Pradesh but the effective implementation of poll strategy by the duo of Yadav and Vaishnaw revived the fortune of BJP in the state. The party, which is ruling for 18 years, will again form government in Madhya Pradesh.
Another leader of Rajasthan Sunil Bansal was given task of winning Telangana along with Prakash Javadekar. But Bansal, who had been key to two victories in Uttar Pradesh, could not perform as per the expectations of party. However, the party could push the agenda of Hindutva in the state which may help it win more seats in parliamentary elections scheduled next year.
