IPS Rajender Kumar Meena, 2011 batch, has submitted a representation with Haryana chief secretary Sanjeev Kaushal seeking to register an FIR against additional chief secretary (ACS) home TVSN Prasad alleging harassment. In the representation, Meena has alleged that Prasad was harassing him (Meena) and his family because Meena belonged to scheduled tribe of Rajasthan.
The Case
Meena was recently empaneled for central deputation as superintendent of police with Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD). He didn't turn up. So he was debarred from central deputation for five years on October 4, 2023.
Later on October 18, 2023, ACS home Prasad issued him relieving order for central deputation. Then Meena met Prasad and requested him to roll back the relieving order.
Being debarred from central deputation and getting relieved as well from cadre, Meena has no work and no posting. He said that the ACS home had harassed him earlier also by posting him as fourth ADC of the Governor.
“There were already two ADCs attached with the Governor. He had appointed me just to torture. Even my salary was drawn against other post,” Meena alleged.
No Harassment
The ACS home TVSN Prasad denied all the charges. He said that the relieving order was issued to complete the process and enable the officer to join the central deputation.
“There is nothing about harassment. I assured him that if he wants to join BPRD, debarment may still be cancelled,” Prasad said.
Prasad further said that Meena has shown interest in staying back due to his son's education.
“I have forwarded his representation to home minister for consideration,” he said.
