No more appetite for surprises, hopefuls start strong lobbying for tickets

Anticipating denial of ticket, senior leader and former state president Arun Chaturvedi has come up to say that he wanted to contest from Civil Lines seat only.

“I have worked very hard in this assembly segment for last years and I want to contest for this seat only,” Chaturvedi said.

In the first list, BJP had denied ticket to Rajpal Singh Shekhawat and Narpat Singh Rajvi. While Shekhawat had lost on Jhotwara seat, Rajvi was the winning candidate from Vidyadhar Nagar from where Diya Kumari is the new contestant.

Similarly, veteran candidates like Kalicharan Saraf, Mohan Lal Gupta, Surendra Pareek, Ashok Parnami and youth face Ashok Lahoty are voicing for ticket in subdued manner.

“Amid apprehensions of denial of tickets, candidates are getting vocal about their demands. Out of 41 names announce last week, 10 candidates have announced to contest as rebel,” said a senior BJP leader.

There are 19 assembly seats in Jaipur. BJP has announced candidates on five seats. In last elections BJP could win only seven out of 19 seats.
Now, after first list, BJP has seen open protest on at least three seats while on other two silent protest is going on.

“Narpat Singh Rajvi, sitting fromVidyadhar Nagar protested against giving ticket to Diya Kumari and even alleged erstwhile Jaipur royal family to which Diya Kumari is member of striking compromise deal with Mughals, Later he retracted on his statement,” said a senior BJP leader.

Similarly, Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore is also facing stiff opposition from supporters of Rajpal Singh Shekhawat. Another contender on this seat, Ashu Singh Surpur has announced to contest the election as a rebel candidate. And if Rajpal also jumps into the boxing ring, Col Singh will have to face difficulty in sailing through.

BJP has given ticket to Hansraj Gurjar from Kotputli. The supporters of another strong contender Mukesh Goyal has been opposing Gurjar's candidature and if Goyal decides to contest the election as rebel, BJP will have difficulty.
