Rajmata Swarupa Devi of erstwhile Jhalawar royal family died at her residence in Defence Colony, New Delhi. She was suffering from cancer and was undergoing treatment at Gangaram Hospital.
Swarupa Devi, 80, was wife of late Maharaj Rana Indrajeet. His son Maharaj Rana Chandrajeet Singh informed about her death.
Her body would be taken to Jhalawar on September 26 and cremation would take place on September 27, 2023 at Kshar Bagh behind her residence Prithvi Vilas Palace.

Rajmata Swarupa Kumari was daughter of Maharaja Manavendra Shah Sahib Bahadur, who was ruler of Tehri Garhwali of Uttarakhand. She got married to Maharaj Rana Indrajeet Singh on April 19, 1968. She has two sons – Maharaj Chandrajeet Singh and Aparajit Singh – and a daughter – Rajeevani Jhala who is married in Uttar Pradesh.non
