In a major crackdown on corruption, Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau has caught red handed three engineers of Public Works Department (PWD) taking bribe of Rs 10 lakh. These include chief engineer (building) Subodh Kumar Mallick, executive engineer Jitendra Kumar Jain and assistant engineer Anant Kumar Gupta.
According to Additional Director General ACB Hemant Priyadarshi, the chief engineer had demanded the bribe from executive engineer through assistant engineer to dispose of a departmental enquiry. The ACB is now conducting search operation on various places owned by these three engineers.
The Case:
A departmental enquiry was being conducted against the executive engineer Jitendra Kumar Jain, who is posted in Dungarpur. The chief engineer demanded Rs 10 lakh to dispose of the case. This money was to be routed through assistant engineer Anant Kumar Gupta who is posted in Banswara. The exchange of bribe was to be taken place at the house of Subodh Kumar Mallick located at Shantinagar in Nirman Nagar, Jaipur. ACB laid the trap and caught three of them red handedly.
The team of ACB included DIG Randheer Singh, ASP Alok Sharma (SIW), ASP Lalit Kishore Sharma and Circle Inspector Hemant Verma among other cops.
