Rajasthan government has booked highest ever GST collection in the starting month of the financial year. It is the highest in the country as well.
According to sources, the state has clocked Rs 4,600 crore GST collection in April, this year resulting into 21% growth.
“Last year the GST collection in April was Rs 3,800 crore. This year we have crossed Rs 4,600 crore. This includes penalty recovery of Rs 500 crore from tax evasion cases being investigated by the department,” said a senior finance department official.
The total GST collection in 2024-25 was Rs 39,971 while in fiscal 2023-24 was 38,016 crore.
“This year the GST collection is likely to surge as economists have forecast increase in consumption,” the official said.
