The central government appointed Pawan Yadav as new private secretary to union home minister Amit Shah for a period upto April 2, 2027.
Yadav, an IAS officer of 2014 batch of Manipur cadre, was serving as deputy secretary in ministry of home affairs since July 2024. His tenure was curtailed as he replaced Saket Kumar, who was appointed as joint secretary in department of commerce, last week.
Yadav is a recipient of the Prime Minister Award for exemplary work as District Collector of Bishnupur district in Manipur.
On Civil Service Day in the year 2018, he was recognised for a 360 approach in promoting and popularising the government's vision of cashless and digital financial transactions.
