IPS Rajesh Arya, Anil Paliwal promoted to DG rank

Two officers of 1994-batch Rajesh Arya and Anil Paliwal – have been promoted from additional general (ADG) to director general rank. 

Rajesh Arya, who is on central deputation, currently serving as chairman of the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) since Jan 1, 2025, got proforma promotion. 

Anil Paliwal is currently serving as ADG of Technical Services ( & Technical) and . He will continue to serve in this post. 

He served as inspector general (IG) at BSF frontier headquarters in Rajasthan, , and South Bengal. Paliwal was instrumental in counterterrorism operations, railway security, and intelligence roles, having previously held the position of ADG of railways, personnel, and the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) & Special Operations Group (SOG) in Rajasthan.

Rathore, Srivastava likely to be promoted 

Two more ADG rank officers from 1994 batch – Anand Srivastava and Ashok Kumar Rathore – are likely to be promoted to DG rank post retirement of DG (ACB) Dr Ravi Prakash Meharda and DG (SCRB-Cyber Crime) Hemant Priyadarshy. While Meharda is getting superannuated in June this year, Priyadarshy will retire in May.
