IPS Rajesh Arya, Anil Paliwal promoted to DG rank

Two officers of 1994-batch Rajesh Arya and Anil Paliwal – have been promoted from additional director general (ADG) to director general rank. 

Rajesh Arya, who is on , currently serving as chairman of the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) since Jan 1, 2025, got proforma promotion. 

Anil Paliwal is currently serving as ADG of Technical Services (Telecommunication & Technical) and Traffic. He will continue to serve in this post. 

He served as inspector general (IG) at BSF frontier headquarters in , Punjab, and South Bengal. Paliwal was instrumental in counterterrorism operations, railway security, and intelligence roles, having previously held the position of ADG of , personnel, and the Anti- Squad (ATS) & Special Operations Group (SOG) in Rajasthan.

Rathore, Srivastava likely to be promoted 

Two more ADG rank officers from 1994 batch – Anand Srivastava and Ashok Kumar Rathore – are likely to be promoted to DG rank post retirement of DG (ACB) Dr Ravi Prakash Meharda and DG (SCRB-Cyber Crime) Hemant Priyadarshy. While Meharda is getting superannuated in June this year, Priyadarshy will retire in May.
