Air India cancels flight after keeping passengers onboard for 5 hours

A couple of days after union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan slammed Tata owned Air for mismanagement and cheating, the airlines once again attracted ire of passengers at

A sort of unpleasant scene and ruckus was created after Air India Express Airlines cancelled Jaipur-Mumbai flight. The Airlines kept the plane on runway with passengers on board for hours before cancelling the flight at the last minute citing technical reasons.

What is the case?

Air India Express Airlines Flight IX-1215 was scheduled to take off for Mumbai at 9:25 am on Tuesday. By this time, all the passengers had boarded the plane. The plane stood in the runway area for more than 5 hours. And after long delay of five hours at 2:30 p.m., the airlines announced the cancellation of the flight.

Enraged with this, the passengers aboard created ruckus blaming airlines for mismanagement.

Airline staff tried to pacify enraged passengers and offered them meal after the delay. They also arranged their boarding in flight schedules at 6 pm.

“We thought position of Air India will improve after Tata took over the management. But unfortunately it has gone from bad to worse. Next time I will have to think twice before choosing Air India,” said a passenger, who was felt cheated after wasting time due to undue delay.

The BuckStopper tried to reach out to the management of Air India. But there was no response from their side. We will update the story when we receive response from Air India.
