Satyendra Kumar, a 2007-batch IPS officer of Rajasthan cadre has been appointed as Director in NITI Aayog for a period till September 24, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Kumar, who was on leave after completing his more than 7-year tenure on central deputation from December 24, 2024, has got a call from Niti Aayog. He had served in served in ministry of environment and forest – first as deputy director and the as director.

His wife Tina Soni, a 2007-batch IAS officer is also currently on central deputation, serving as joint secretary in department of fertiliser.
Earlier this month, Rajeev Singh Thakur, a 1995-batch IAS, also from Rajasthan cadre was appointed as advisor in Niti Aayog. He had also joined Niti Aayog after completing central deputation term of 7-year. He was also on leave prior to his appointment in Niti Aayog.
