Rajasthan launches three policies to step up industrial development in state

Rajasthan government is riding on business reforms and new policy launches to garner economic growth in the . Chief Bhajan Lal Sharma, on Tuesday, launched three new policies – logistics policy, data centre policy and textile and apparel policy – to provide impetus to the momentum gained after Summit. 

The industries department will be the nodal office for the implementation of these new policies.

Textile and Apparel Policy

The state government is aims at  becoming a manufacturing hub in the field of textiles and apparel. The Rajasthan Textile and Apparel Policy-2025 will promote sustainable and holistic development of the textile and apparel sector in the state.

The sector is likely to get an investment over Rs 40,000 crore due to the new policy in place. It will result in employment generation, skill development, innovation, productivity and exports in this sector. It will also increase the efficiency and reliability of local textile manufacturers globally.

World-class data centre ecosystem will develop from Data Centre Policy-2025

The data centre policy will help in setting up of data centres in private sector in Rajasthan. 

The implementation of this policy is likely to bring an investment of about Rs 20,000 crore in the state in the next five years.

The objective of this policy is to develop a world-class data centre ecosystem in the state and make Rajasthan a major destination in the data centre sector. The policy will make effective the efficiency, security and reliability of the activities of data centres to be established in the state. In this policy, several provisions have been made including asset creation incentives, sunrise incentives, interest subsidy, exemption in banking, transmission and wheeling charges, flexible payment facility related to land, exemption from stamp duty, land conversion and electricity charges and exemption from external development charges to encourage the data centre sector.

Rajasthan Logistics Policy-2025 to attract private investment

The Logistics Policy aims at encouraging industrial development in the state and reducing the cost of logistics while increasing connectivity. This policy will help in mapping logistics facilities and job creation by attracting private investment in the logistics sector. 

Under the this policy, attractive provisions have been made for various concessions in taxes and duties including capital subsidy, interest subsidy for warehouse, silo, cold storage, inland container depot, container freight station, air freight station, cargo terminal, trucker park, private multi- logistics park and integrated logistics park developers. A maximum of 10 acres or 10 per cent of allocatable land will be reserved for logistics facilities in upcoming industrial areas of RIICO.
