Five district-collectors to be awarded for improving gender, EP ratio

The gender ratio as well as electoral population ratio have improved in Rajasthan indicating an increased level of electoral awareness in the . It also indicates the diminishing discrimination between boy and girl child in the state, which was grappling with skewed gender ratio, a decade back.

“The gender ratio which was 924 in October 2024 has improved to 932 in January 2025, which is the highest so far. Similarly, the average of electoral population ratio has also gone up from 650 to 663,” said Naveen Mahajan, chief election officer (CEO) of Rajasthan. 

The number of voters in the state has also gone up to 5,45,69,501 to mark the 15th national voters' day to be celebrated on January 25, 2025. 

Mahajan said that district collectors and officers of election department have worked hard to improve the electoral situation in the state.

Collectors to be awarded

The election department has decided to felicitate five district collectors – Neelabh Saxena ( Karauli), Tina Dabi (), Rohitashva Singh Tomar (Baran), (Bundi) and Devendra Kumar (Dausa) – for remarkable performance in review and compilation of list in their districts. 

The electoral population ratio, which is measure of the number of people eligible to vote against total population, is a sign of healthy democracy. 

The improvement in electoral population ratio reflects the hard of district election officers, who identified and registered eligible voters by creating awareness and reaching out to them.
