Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his Mumbai residence by an unidentified burglar. During the altercation, the actor sustained injuries to his neck and spine while attempting to defend himself. He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital for treatment but is now reported to be out of danger.
The actor's family is with him at the hospital. Kareena and Saif, who have been married since 2012, live in the Satguru Sharan building in Mumbai's Bandra West. The couple's two sons – Taimur (8) and Jeh (4) – also live with them.
According to sources close to the actor, a thief broke into Khan's residence around 2:30 am. The break-in was spotted by one of the nannies staying in the house, who immediately raised an alarm, alerting everyone. The intruder, armed with a knife, attacked Saif when he came out to investigate the commotion. It remains unclear who else was present in the house at the time of the incident.
Saif Ali Khan's team confirmed the actor was attacked during an attempted burglary. Their statement read, “There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan's residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation.”
