All eyes are on five districts, attracted investment of over Rs 27 lakh crore

For next four years, five districts of Rajasthan – , Bikaner, , Jaislamer and newly created Phalodi – are going to be hot. Not only for its high temperatures in summers but also for the investment potential the barren lands of these districts hold. 

In the recently concluded Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit, the state attracted investment commitment worth more than Rs 35 lakh crore. Out of which over Rs 27 lakh crores have been committed in renewable energy space. These renewable projects are likely to be set up in these five district of western Rajasthan, which is blessed with maximum solar radiation intensity of about 6-7kWh/ Sq. m/day and more than 325 sunny days in a year.

Recently, Rajasthan chief secretary Sudhansh had said that five districts of Rajasthan are going to be extremely important as far as investment in renewable energy sector is concerned. 

“We have sensitised collectors and SPs, specially of five of western Rajasthan which is the playground for renewable energy projects. They will act immediately to resolve issues being faced by developers,” he said. 

District administration including collectors and SPs of these five districts assume importance as their efficiency is going to play a major role in the economic and social development of the state.

“Collectors and SPs will have handle well the investment in renewable sector. They will have to act promptly, give comfort and remove all the local issues obstacles being faced by the investors. A lot will depend on the way they handle the investment proposals,” said a senior IAS officer.
