At a time when Rajasthan government is organising Rising Rajasthan Global Summit to attract investment from across the global, visit of US Ambassador Eric M Garcetti to Jaipur has a great significance. Garcetti is well known for his innovations as a Mayor to make Los Angeles a Green City. He is also appreciated by the US government for bringing in record investment.
Rajasthan is going to be benefitted from his experience which he shared with principal secretary industries Ajitabh Sharma and other senior officials including GAD secretary Jogaram and RTDC managing director Sushma Arora in presence of Governor Hari Bhau Bagade. Later US Ambassador also met chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and discussed on issues of mutual cooperation.
Recently, Rajasthan government had held Ambassador's Round Table at New Delhi where diplomats and ambassadors of various country had come. Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has invited countries through their diplomats to park their investments Rajasthan which is on its path to become a developed Rajasthan.
US Ambassador Garcetti shared his experiments as diplomat in India and also discussed investment opportunities with principal secretary industries Ajitabh Sharma and other officials.
During his mayoralty, Garcetti led Los Angeles through crisis, charted a bold green future, and launched record investments in infrastructure.
Under his watch, Los Angeles was named the best run city in America by the What Works Cities initiative of Bloomberg Philanthropies and Garcetti was named Public Official of the Year in 2019 by Governing Magazine.
Garcetti oversaw a period of record economic growth and opportunity, won the Olympic and Paralympic Games for Los Angeles in 2028 and left the city with a record budget surplus.
Principal secretary Ajitabh Sharma apprised him with the industry friendly policies and told him about how Rajasthan is welcoming investment by creating conducive environment and enabling business ecology.
US Ambassador meets CM Bhajan Lal Sharma
US Ambassador Eric M Gorcetti met chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma who invited him for the Rising Rajasthan Summit. Sharma also gave open invitation to US investors to participate in the summit to be organised from 9-11 December.
Sharma informed Gorcetti about the investment avenues in Rajasthan including green energy, tourism, skill development, IT, infrastructure and defence technology.
Sharma also invited American Universities to open their study centres and campuses in Rajasthan. He also invited them to work in the field of GCC and date centre development.
