Senior IAS roped in to anchor Rising Rajasthan roadshows

As per an order issued by principal secretary industry Ajitabh Sharma, Rajasthan government will organise roadshows at Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata to woo investors for Rising Rajasthan summit

Enthused by overwhelming response from business community across the globe for Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, Rajasthan government has decided to organise road shows and investor meets at country's important business centres including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Chennai in the first week of November.

It has already held roadshows at financial capital Mumbai and national capital Delhi where corporates biggies have signed up investment commitments of more than Rs 15 lakh crores. 

According to an order issued by principal secretary industries Ajitabh Sharma, senior IAS officers have been roped in to make the roadshows successful. 

While and Pallakonda Ramesh, who belong to Andhra Pradesh, would be the nodal officers for Hyderabad roadshow, Ravi Kumar Surpur, a native of Karnataka, would handle the Bengaluru roadshow. 

Similarly Chennai roadshow would be handled by V Saravana Kumar, a native of Tamilnadu and roadshow at Kolkata will be organised under Sreya Guha, who belongs to West Bengal.

Apart from that, the government has also appointed coordinating officers for these roadshows. While Rajesh Yadav and Dinesh Kumar will team up with Ramesh and T Ravikanth, Neeraj K Pawan and Ravi Jain would with Ravi Kumar Surpur. Vaibhav Galriya and Ashutosh Pednekar will have to fly to Chennai for the roadshow while Bhaskar Sawant and Gayatri Rathore will have to prepare for Kolkata roadshow. 

The industry department, which is planning the summit, has also finalised industry partners for the roadshows. Industry body FICCI has been entrusted with coordinating the roadshows at Hyderabad and Bengaluru while CII and ICC will conduct shows at Chennai and Kolkata respectively. 

According sources, roadshows at Chennai, Kolkata and Bengaluru were not finalised in the initial planning. Only roadshow at Hyderabad was planned.

“But due to overwhelming response and demand from business community at those economic nerve centres, state government included more roadshows,” sources said.

Putting the best foot forward

Not only senior IAS officers, chief secretary Sudhansh Pant is also actively involved to ensure success of this summit. He is also visiting places hardselling Rajasthan as investment destination. He has visited Delhi, Mumbai and Singapore to invite investors. 

The Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma is leading from the front along with his cabinet colleagues deputy Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa, industry minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, who are also visiting various countries including , South Korea, London, UAE, Qatar, , Munich and Italy among other business destinations.
