A high level delegation of Rajasthan government led by industry minister Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and chief secretary Sudhansh Pant showcased business potential of Rajasthan before the business fraternity of Singapore – one of the Asia's largest trading hub.
Industry and Commerce Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore said that being the largest state in India by area, Rajasthan offers extensive opportunities for growth and development.
“Rajasthan has over 320 days of sunshine, and the government has set a target of having 100 GW renewable energy capacity in next few years. We have abundant sunshine, young population, bureaucratic support for the businesses, and political will to make things happen quickly. Decisions are made swiftly in the State. We are committed to attracting investments in the State and more than doubling the economy of the state,” Col. Rathore said.
He also invited everyone, particularly, the investor community and business leaders of Singapore to participate in the upcoming ‘Rising Rajasthan' Global Investment Summit 2024 and explore the investment avenues available in the State.
Making a pitch for investments in Rajasthan by Singaporean companies, Rathore said that there are several sectors in Rajasthan which are conducive to investments, including Tourism, IT and ITeS, Agro-processing, logistics, renewable energy etc.
“Singaporean companies can consider exploring Logistics sector in Rajasthan, as we have the western dedicated freight corridor passing through the state and 2 expressways – Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway. Land on either side of these two expressways are available for businesses,” Col. Rathore said while addressing the investor community of Singapore.
Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant said that the State government is organising the ‘Rising Rajasthan' Global Investment Summit 2024 in the very first year of its tenure, so that we can implement the policy changes that have been promised and keep a tab on the economic development.
“So many MoUs have already been signed since the investor meets have started and in the next few months, these investment intents will only intensify. We have invited Singapore to be a partner country of the investment summit and if they agree, there will be a special session and exhibition space for Singapore and you all can come and visit,” Pant said.
Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary (Medical & Health), while making a presentation at the Singapore Investor Meet, said that the State has a strong trade relationship with Singapore and exports from the State has increased by 280% in last 4 years to the island nation.
She also showcased the potential of the state and investment opportunities in various sectors of Rajasthan to the investor community during the presentation.
“We wish to leverage key strengths of Singapore, like strength in strategic sectors, cutting edge research and development capabilities, technological advancements and infrastructure expertise, so as to match our ambitions with Singapore,” she further added that there is tremendous scope for collaboration in real estate, tourism, logistics, education and skills, petrochemicals and renewable energy as investment in these sectors and subsectors provide multiple growth opportunities.
Rajasthan delegation met officials of Sembcorp
Minister of Industry and Commerce Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, Principal Secretary (Medical and Health). Gayatri Rathore, and other members of the Rajasthan Government delegation met with Sembcorp – a Singapore state-owned global urban development and energy company – in the island nation today on the sidelines of the Investor Meet.
During the meeting, Col. Rathore discussed the boundless opportunities available in the State, particular in the areas like urban development, energy, infrastructure development etc. and invited Sembcorp to consider making investments in Rajasthan.
The officials of Sembcorp shared about their successful projects in Singapore, China, Indonesia, and Vietnam and expressed interest in developing industrial infrastructure in Rajasthan. They also asked for appropriate land for proceeding further.
