Samit Sharma charts out three-tier training programme for vets

Rajasthan Dr is serious about the quality of veterinary doctors recruited recently. He has introduced three tier training programme to groom vets who can contributed to the society in a better way. 

“Vets should take training seriously. It will enhance their skillset and knowledge. In coming times, these trained Vets will be  crucial in implementing the departmental programmes,” Dr Samit Sharma, who is also a paediatrician, said. 

Dr. Sharma said that the three tier training for vets includes theoretical classes, clinical  and practical exposure and interactive session where they will be evaluated before completing the training. 

“During 23-day theory classes, vets will be given lessons on office procedures, procurement rules and important programmes of the department,” he said. 

In the practical session, veterinary doctors will be given exposure to clinical training and surgical procedures to make them job ready for animal care. The session will last four weeks. All vets will have to visit nearest polyclinic and get hands on training on surgical procedures. 

In the third round of training, vets will be asked to attend a two-day workshop in which written and verbal evaluation will done. 

“Those who complete the training satisfactorily will be given oath of Veterinarians,” he said.
