SVU reveals Mercedes given to IAS Sanjeev Hans as bribe

In the investigation into disproportionate assets of Bihar IAS Sanjeev Hans, SVU revealed that Mercedes was given to him as bribe

, a 1997-batch IAS officer, has taken a Mercedes car as bribe from one of the pre paid meter installation companies when he was serving as the principal secretary of the energy department and the chairman-cum-managing director of the Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited.

Recently, Enforcement Directorate had raided premises of Sanjeev Hans and his aides under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).  

This fact has been revealed by Special Vigilance Unit (SVU), which has filed an FIR against Sanjeev Hans in disproportionate income case.

According to the FIR, SVU found photo of Gur Baltej Singh, brother-in- of Sanjeev Hans posing with Mercedes on his account. 

The Mercedes car was purchased in the year 2023 in the name of Gurgaon based Tarun Raghav, who is friend of Gur Baltej Singh. Interestingly the car was first purchased in the year 2022 by a Jharkhand based company SK & Sons Enterprises. Later the car was transferred in the name of Tarun Raghav.   

Similarly, SVU has also found circuitous entry of unaccounted money trailing to former Gulab Yadav, who is allegedly close to Sanjeev Hans. 

According to SVU, Gulab Yadav had deposited Rs 4.59 crore in the current account of Devendra Singh Anand, who is a Pune based tyre dealer. 

Recently had raided office and house of Devendra Singh Anand where the agency found many evidences. The agency found mention of transaction of Rs 1 crore in the name of Gulab Yadav on one of papers it seized.
