Ever since Rajasthan Staff Selection Board chairman Hari Prasad Sharma had resigned late last month, there has been anxiety among job aspirants. With no one at the helm, people fear that at least 10 recruitment examinations involving one lakh vacancies are going to be affected.

Rajasthan Unemployed Integrated Association president Upen Yadav told Buckstopper that youth will stage against the government if the government doesn't clear its stand on vacancies.

“There is lot of uncertainty over the proposed examination. Youth has been preparing for these tests for long. If examinations are not conducted in time then their future will be ruined. The government should appoint the chairman at the earliest to set the ball rolling,” Yadav told Buckstopper.

He said that the worst impact is on teachers recruitment test besides other examinations which include posts in department like social justice, water resources, , PHED and among others.

“The are due in 2-3 months. If the government doesn't appoint chairman quickly then the entire recruitment process will stuck under code of conduct. We are staging this protest and if our voice is not heard, we will scale it up and the government will be responsible for it,” Yadav said.

The board chairman Hari Prasad Sharma had sent his resignation to the government last month on July 23. He had mentioned in the resignation that his term is going to be completed on October 7.

“Even if I complete my term, only three examinations can be conducted during my tenure. The remaining five examinations will get stuck,” Sharma had said.

He said that if the government appoints new chairman then he will be able to conduct all the eight examinations in time.

“I have given resignation just to ensure that all the examinations are conducted in time and future of more than a lakh youth doesn't get spoilt,” he said.

Sharma is a retired IPS, who was in January 2021 as the chairman of the board. He is known to be an upright honest officer, who conducted recruitment examinations successfully without much controversy.
