Navajyoti Gogoi, an IPS officer of 2000 batch has been placed under central deputation. He has joined Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as Inspector General (IG). He was serving as IG, Personnel at Police Headquarters in Jaipur.
This is second time Navajyoti Gogoi is going on central deputation. He had earlier served as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from October 2012 to October 2019. He had received Police Medal for meritorious service while serving as DIG Guwahati in CBI.
A native of Assam, Gogoi has served as IG Rajasthan Police Academy, IG Jodhpur Range and Commissioner Jodhpur besides additional charge of Pro-Vice Chancellor of Sardar Patel University of Police Security and Criminal Justice while serving as IG Jodhpur range.
Apart from that, he had been SP in five districts including Hanumangarh, Bharatpur, Barmer, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur rural before serving as ADC to Governor of Rajasthan. During his tenure June 2004 to August 2008, Rajasthan had three Governors – Madan Lal Khurana, TV Rajeswar and Pratibha Patil.
