IPS VK Singh, who cracked down on paper leak mafia, gets President’s medal

IPS VK Singh who showed exemplary work in arresting masterminds of paper leak, has been awarded with President’s Police Medal

IPS VK Singh, additional director general, special operation group (SOG) will be felicitated with President's Police Medal for his exemplary services. 

In the last eight months, Singh has been able to tighten noose around paper leak mafia in Rajasthan. His team caught more than 150 accused including mastermind in paper leaks of REET and Sub Inspector exams. 

SOG nabbed over 15 trainee SI on charges of cheating

In a surprise move, SOG arrested more than 15 trainee sub inspectors from the Rajasthan Police Academy on suspicion of cheating and impersonation in examination. After verification the arrested trainee sub inspectors were found to be selected through unfair means. 

SOG claims that it has arrested masterminds who are said to be behind the section of more than 2,000 candidates through dummy candidates, paper leak and forged educational degrees.

Apart from VK Singh, 14 policemen have also been selected Police Medals.

Who is VK Singh?

Vijay Kumar Singh is a 1997 batch IPS officer. He is considered to be an intelligent and gutsy officer with rich experience of working in Central Bureau of Investigation.

A native of Bihar, Singh is a graduate in civil . He had been SP in eight districts and also in CID. 

Among other postings, he had been IG of Range and Anti Corruption Bureau (). He had also been additional director general of traffic before being posted as additional director general of ATS and SOG.
