IAS Yaduvendra Mathur passes away

Yaduvendra Mathur, a 1986-batch IAS took his last breath in Chennai. He had retired from IAS in 2019 as special secretary Niti Aayog.

Yaduvendra Mathur, a 1986-batch IAS of Rajasthan cadre, on Saturday, passed away in Chennai.

According to hospital sources, he was critically ill having cardiac issues. He succumbed to death after couple of surgeries. His dead body will reach Jaipur at his residence H-702, Jewels of apartment on Sunday afternoon. The last rites will be performed on Monday at around 9 am at Lal Kothi crematorium.

Considered as a dynamic officer, Yaduvendra Mathur retired in 2019 as special secretary in Niti Aayog. Before that he has served as chairman and managing of Exim Bank. He had a good grip over economics and financial matters. Perhaps his education had much to do about it. He did MBA before completing graduation in Economics. 

Yaduvendra Mathur also served with Rajasthan Financial Corporation as CMD, as Director General Revenue Intelligence, Principal Secretary , Secretary Expenditure, Dy Secretary Finance as an Income Tax Officer, and he was also associated with African Bank.

Mathur also had international experience representing India (DEA) as its nominee, on the Board of Directors of African Development Bank, at Abidjan/Tunis. As CMD Exim Bank, he was on the BRICS Inter Bank Forum for three years representing India.

Mathur had strong competencies working with financial performance data including interpreting summarising and communicating high-level outputs. Commerce & Accountancy was his subject in the UPSC Main Exams. He ranked first in the 1986 IAS seniority and was awarded three gold medals during probation.
