Rajasthan government has removed more than 2,000 contractual employees from municipalities, urban improvement trusts, development authorities and local bodies. These contractual employees were retired employees reemployed on pay minus pension or on contract.
The departments of urban development and local self governance have jointly issued an order regarding this.
According to sources, there are many retired clerks, engineers and officials attached with various municipalities, housing board and development agencies like RUDSICO, RUIDP.
The government has sent their bags packing.
“In Rajasthan's largest urban development agency – JDA – where the chief secretary Sudhansh Pant put senior officials on APO due to laxity in work – there are more than 200 retired employees while housing board has more than 30 retired staff remployed.
In Jaipur Nagar Nigam (Heritage), the Mayor Munesh Gurjar has appointed a retired official as her advisor while Nagar Nigam Greater Soumya Gurjar has hired Ramakant Agrawal as officer on special duty.
“The services of all these retired employees who were hired on contract or pay minus pension will end from today,” said a senior official.
