Vikas Rajpurohit, a 2015 batch Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer, has been appointed as officer on special duty (OSD) in the Rajasthan chief minister officer.
Rajpurohit was serving as deputy secretary in the department of personnel. Last month, Yogesh Kumar Srivastava, a 2008 batch Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer was appointed as officer on special duty (OSD) in the CMO.
Considered as a dynamic and result oriented officer, Vikas Rajpurohit attained sixth rank in the RAS examination. He had also served as additional private secretary to PP Chaudhary, who was minister of state for law and justice and corporate affairs in the first term of Modi government.
Perfect choice for OSD
The chief minister has chosen perfect officer to be his OSD. Since he has experience of working as personal staff of minister, Rajpurohit will excel in this role as OSD to chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
Also, Rajpurohit, in his current role in the personnel department was in constant touch with senior IAS of secretariat. He enjoys good relationship with most of them. This will come handy while dealing with officers. The efficiency will certainly increase with personal touch.
Vikas Rajpurohit left hefty job in US to serve nation
A bachelor of electronics and communication engineering, Vikas Rajpurohit was working in US with a big multinational company at heft pay packet. When he left the job and came back to his home town Barmer to prepare for RAS examination, people ridiculed his decision.
But determined to serve state in administrative capacity, Rajpurohit cleared RAS examination. Now he has become an inspiration other RAS aspirants and has been helping them to clear RAS examination.
In his eight years of service, he has worked as deputy commissioner in Jodhpur Devlopment Authority, additional ceo of zila parishad Jodhpur and sub divisional magistrate of Jaisalmer, Behror, Fatehgarh and Sumerpur.
