First cabinet meeting of Bhajan Lal Sharma on January 18

The first cabinet meeting of Bhajan Lal Sharma is going to be very crucial. It may take important decisions ahead of Lok Sabha polls

The first cabinet meeting of Bhajan Lal Sharma is scheduled on January 18, a day ahead of the assembly session. The meeting is scheduled at 11 am at chief minister office. 

The agenda of the meeting is likely to be review of decisions taken by Gehlot government in last six months. In first cabinet meeting, there is every likelihood of having discussion about the Ram Temple programme which is going to take place in  on January 22, 2024. The government, after declaring it a dry day, may declare .

The chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma had taken oath on December 15 along with two deputy chief ministers – Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa. Later on December 30, 22 ministers were sworn in. Later on January 8, Surendra Pal Singh TT resigned from his post even before taking over the charge. He was made minister even before his winning election from Karanpur, where polls were postponed due to death of Congress Gurmeet Singh Kunnar. Kunnar's son Rupinder Singh Kunnar won the election.

What can be discussed in cabinet meeting?

The cabinet is likely to discuss the strategy for the first assembly session going to start from January 19. It will also discuss the chart of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in the backdrop of coming Lok Sabha elections. 

The cabinet may also discuss the proposals pending with government since the implementation of model code of conduct. It will also discuss the investment opportunities which its ministers Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Heeralal Nagar explored at Gujarat investment summit.

The cabinet is also likely to discuss how to implement the Sankalp Patra – manifesto of BJP – as part of policy of the government.

The first cabinet meeting is crucial as the meeting will have only five ministers – Kirodi Lal Meena, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Madan Dilwar, Gajendra Singh and Otaram Dewasi – who have prior experience of working in central or state government.
