Young IPS officer Harsh Bardhan Singh of Karnataka cadre died in a road accident near Hassan in Karnataka.
Singh was a 2023 batch IPS officer. He had recently completed a month-long training at the Karnataka Police Academy (KPA) in Mysore. He was going for his first joining as Assistant Superintendent of Police in Hassan.
Harsh Bardhan Singh was on his way from Mysore to Hassan in an official vehicle. Meanwhile, at around 4:20 pm on Sunday, the tyre of his car burst near Kittane in Hasan Taluk on Hasan-Mysore road. When the tyre burst, driver Manje Gowda lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle collided with a house on the side of the road.
Death due to severe head injury
Harsh Bardhan suffered a serious head injury in the accident. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but his life could not be saved. Driver Manje Gowda suffered minor injuries in the accident. He is undergoing treatment at the district hospital in Hassan.
Family lives in Rewa district
Harsh Bardhan Singh's father Akhilesh Singh is an SDM in Devsar in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh. Harshvardhan's family was originally from Mazhiar in Rewa district.
Two days ago, Harsh Bardhan had come to meet his father in Devsar in Singrauli district. After this, he took a flight from Singrauli to Jabalpur and from Jabalpur to Karnataka. From there, he was going to Hassan district, who had his first posting in a government vehicle.
Singh did engineering
Harsh Bardhan Singh was the elder of two brothers. He was an engineer. Younger brother Anand Vardhan Singh is doing IIT. After the accident, the Karnataka police had contacted the Singrauli SP in the night and conveyed the message to the SDM. After which SDM Akhilesh Singh and his wife left for Jabalpur from Singrauli. He will fly to Karnataka from Jabalpur.
